The September Western Marine Centre fishing report for western part of Port Phillip Bay is as follows:

Fishing has been quiet with weather not great for boating or fishing.

Calamari are still doing well off Point Cook.

There are reports of reasonable numbers of pinkies off Williamstown football ground - mainly at dawn and change of tide.

Ponit Wilson - 1/2km off the long jetty and off "Dumb Joe" have had some good results on snapper- not sure if resident or new seasons.

Some whiting catches noted on 25/9/5 - between Point Wilson and Wedge Spit

Werribee river is worth a try for bream- cast toward the moored boats for betyter results .

Rickets Point off Sandringham has been hot for pinkies the last 2 weeks

TIP:

Try using soft plastic lures- more and more anglers

are doing so with great success. At Western Marine Centre we have a selection of the latest lures on the market from Mango - both solid and plastic. We also have the tried and true Sqidgies.

Try some lures - you'll be hooked!
